Cyrus Peck served in World War I. He first went overseas in 1914 as a Major in the 30th Battalion. In May 1915, he joined as a Lieutenant Colonel in the 16th (Canadian Scottish) Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force. As Lieutenant-Colonel, Peck commanded the 16th Battalion from November 1916 until January 1919.
